  • Specializing in Maternal Mental Health, Parenting Struggles, and Children & Families

I feel honored that you are here!

Hey mama, are you feeling lost and overwhelmed by this new journey called motherhood? Are you finding it hard to ask those around you for help, even though deep down inside you know you desperately need it? Maybe you are constantly experiencing mom guilt and anxiety, because you have to leave your baby with someone else so you can make it to work on time, but you can’t stop thinking about how they are doing without you, or what you might be missing. Perhaps baby isn’t even here yet and you already find yourself thinking, “This is not what I thought it would be like” or “What is happening to my body?”

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you are right where you belong, mama. If I had to guess, I bet you’ve been debating for weeks or even months to reach out for support. For whatever reason you found me today, know I’m incredibly proud of you for taking the courageous step. I know it can be really hard to ask for help, but it can be even more difficult to suffer in silence alone without any support. You don’t have to do this alone, mama.

Motherhood can be both complicated and beautiful at the same time.

I want to offer you the space to embrace all aspects – the embarrassing moments no one wants to talk about, the “I’m losing my shit” break downs, and the beautiful heart fluttering moments of motherhood. Together, we will work on normalizing and validating your thoughts and feelings while focusing on building connections, supports, and confidence. You deserve to feel supported and empowered to be the best mama you can be for yourself and your family.

Don’t get caught in the many waves of emotions you experience during motherhood.

    The Nitty Gritty

Whether you are currently pregnant, in the fourth trimester, or in a later stage of motherhood, many changes take place during this transitional time. Just when you start to think you might be figuring motherhood out, something new happens and leaves you questioning even more. Although women have been having babies for centuries, we often do not talk about the many big and small changes that are to come, resulting in many women not feeling adequately prepared for motherhood.

Working with a therapist trained in maternal mental health can significantly help you (and your partner) to feel better prepared to navigate the mental, emotional, physical and relational challenges that are unique to becoming a mama. I am here to normalize your transition to motherhood and offer you education, support, and resources as we discuss the intimate details that so many are embarrassed to talk about.

Some topics we may discuss in our sessions include:

    • Personal care during pregnancy and after baby (baby won’t be the only one in diapers)
    • Body changes (bounce back body…my ass!)
    • Relational Changes (family, friends, colleagues, etc.)
    • Parenting criticism (new mamas need support, not criticism)
    • Sex (from feeling “In the mood” to “don’t freaking touch me”)
    • Perinatal mood & anxiety disorders (PMADs)
    • Child/parent attachments (feeling connected or distant from child)
    • Identity challenges (who the heck am I?)
    • Roles/expectations (importance of discussing these early on)
    • Mom guilt (mama, give yourself some grace!)
    • Returning to the professional world vs being a stay at home mama
    • Work/life/self balance (setting boundaries and focusing on what works best for you and your family!)

    Telehealth Services Available

With telehealth available, you will never have to worry about finding childcare, hitting heavy traffic, leaving work early, etc. You pick the private location and I’ll meet you there (virtually, of course)!

    What makes me different?

This is one of my core values, and truly one of the biggest things that sets me apart from most. I am straightforward, honest, and always aiming to be my true self. In my opinion, owning who we are (the good and the bad), is one of the most beautiful forms of vulnerability there is.

Let's face it, as much as we may try to plan for things, life is just unpredictable at times. I'm here to help make things easier for you, not harder. With telehealth sessions available, my services are more flexible now than ever.

I am a firm believer that connection can make or break any relationship. When a person feels connected they feel safe, valued, heard, and unjudged. I wouldn't go to a therapist I didn't feel comfortable and connected with, and neither should you. If it turns out we're not a good fit, I'll be more than happy to refer you to another great therapist in Florida.
